At the intersection of Traditional and Modern Music.
About
I’m a music composer and producer currently in my 3rd year at IIT Bombay. My journey started with 8 years of intensive training in Hindustani Classical music, which still forms the soul of everything I create.
Whether I’m scoring for film or producing indie tracks, I love blending the rich traditions of Indian music with modern cinematic sounds. Heavily inspired by the likes of A.R. Rahman and Ajay-Atul, I’m constantly working toward a future in film scoring and playback singing.
Work
This is a song that plays during a typical Bihari wedding. The song expresses wishes given to the bride during the marriage. It was featured in the short film Daakiya, which was part of Inter IIT 8.0. The entire song was made in a very short period of time. We recorded the flutes live and used GeoShred for the shehnai, while the rest of the track was produced in Logic Pro X.
This is a title track I made for a horror web series in the ideation phase which never released. This track consists of many different horror elements with a very dark, eerie, and intense horror tune. This was made around 2021. There is a mantra chant in between representing the Yakalkini. Musically, something new in this is a scale transpose in the middle of the track, which was a challenging element implemented effectively. Do check this out.
This is a track I made for the feature film The Mail, which is yet to be released. The music is divided into two parts. In the first part, there is a title/intro with a subtle sense of a love story. In the second part, it transitions into tension, drama, and cinematic elements. Do check this out.
This is the sound design and music I created for a short animated video for the course DE301 at IDC, IIT Bombay. The story revolves around an elderly grandmother whose grandson leaves and does not return for a long time.
This is an incomplete track for the song Radha Rangli. The main tune is composed and written by Suresh Gaikwad, while all the music production, including the sargam section in the middle, is done by me. The theme of the song is a classical dance performance by the heroine in a temple, while the lead hero watches her.
This is a BGM track I made for the short film Virah, based on the theme of letting go of one’s sorrows. The film won a Gold Medal at the 51 Hours Short Filmmaking Competition during Inter IIT Culturals 8.0 at IIT Kanpur.
This is a track I have been working on recently. It captures a strong feeling of losing someone loved. The lyrics for this track are yet to be written.
